DFT

When a new electronic product is to be launched on the market, it is very important to carry out as many electrical and functional tests as possible in order to guarantee the end user a product with the highest quality standards.

That is why to guarantee these electrical tests a DFT (Design for Testability) is carried out, a predictive study to see the number of accesses that we are going to have on the PCB (Printed Circuit Board) and thus be able to provide feedback to the PCB designer to modify it. before it goes on the market.

An ideal design of the PCB is that it has 100% access to be able to test all the components, firstly in an ICT (In Circuit Test) and after ensuring that the components to which we have access through pins are in the values correct and there are no shorts or open circuits, a functional test can be done simulating the end use of the electronic product.

Our DFTs reports can be 3 levels:

  • DFT nivel 1, solo muestra el porcentaje de cobertura que va a tener la PCB
  • DFT level 2, shows percentage of coverage plus a schematic analysis to improve or increase functional tests of the PCBA
  • DFT level 3, in addition to analyzing the schematic, we analyzing cluster structural tests for minimize the test points in the ICT fixture without losing coverage.
